reSET is excited to host its second annual Beyond Business as Usual (BBAU) Conference. This all-day event will celebrate, educate, and germinate social enterprise! It will bring together students, young professionals, educators, public advocates, investors, and social entrepreneurs to learn from each other and become actively engaged in making CT a hub of social enterprise. As part of the agenda, the reSET Social Entrepreneur Award winners will be announced. This award was established to recognize aspiring individuals with viable, sustainable business plans for social enterprise that will improve the community, create jobs, and demonstrate the power of harnessing profit to purpose. The program will also include social enterprise exhibits, panels and workshops on start-up capital; how to begin; legal structures; social media, and others. The Keynote Speaker will be Robert Egger, D.C. Central Kitchen. The first Beyond Business as Usual Forum in June 2010 brought together over 250 people of all ages and interests from business, academia, and nonprofit sectors. People came to learn more about Social Enterprise and left inspired and excited about the possibilities of this new business model.
